O’s Notes: Lee’s house is in order as he serves up a dozen mostly new contemporary jazz jams. This is not the soft smooth stuff, though it has some radio appeal. It has a lot of syncopation and bite. There is an impressive guest list with George Duke & John Beasley sharing work on the Fender Rhodes, funky bassist Marcus Miller, Paulinho Da Costa (percussion) and Ernie Watts on tenor sax. Lee carries the melodies well on guitar with this fresh set, one of his best and one that brings the summer’s sizzling heat into the Fall.
