O’s Notes: This is a funky trio that dances on the side of funky jazz, progressive rock and as their name suggests, soul. They sound much larger than a trio courtesy of Neal Evans use of the Hammond with a feverish bass line. His brother Alan keeps time with sharp beats fitting the groove of the tunes. At the center of the action is Eric Krasno a fluid guitarist who seems at home playing rock, jazz, blues or soul. Rubber is a collection of Beattles tunes Jazzed up with an overdose of funk. It works well especially on “Come Together”, “Eleanor Rigby” and “Drive My Car”. This is a transformation of tried and true rock classics that falls right into the Soulive zone!
