O’s Notes: Pascal is a talented jazz guitarist ready to cook at any moment. He has developed a guitar sound that is somewhat muted and with a percussive element. He calls it balafonics. It is unique and is well mated to the jazzy African/Caribbean sound we hear on this album. His musicians include several pianists, bassists, drummers and percussionists. Guest artist Donald ‘Duck’ Bailey (d) and Don & Alicia Cunningham (vocals) add spice to the blend. The vocal tracks are laid back but laced with cool scats. Of particular note are “Blue Moon”, “Road Blues” and “I Remember You”.
