O’s Notes: Saxophonist Julio Botti presents his latest project Sax to Tango, a follow up to Tango Nostalgias (4/3) recorded in 2013. He again enlists support from producer/composer/pianist Pablo Ziegler and this time invites The University of Southern Denmark Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Saul Zaks. The program is mostly the works of Astor Piazolla with a few of Ziegler’s originals. The music is lush and powerful with the underlying festive and artistic spirit of tango.
