O’s Notes: Larry Goldings (B3), John Scofield (g), MonoNeon(b), Louis Cole (d) and Scary Pockets: Ryan Lerman (g) & Jack Conte (Wurlitzer), bring back a funky groove from the 1970s. That old-school rhythm and blues is pervasive end to end. We liked “Bruise Cruise”, “Professor Vicarious”, “Meter’s Running” and “Disco Pills”. This is the fourth iteration of Scary Goldings (IV), initiated in 2018. Now we’re encouraged to revisit/check-out the first three volumes.
