O’s Notes: These boys woke us up with their opener “Work Song”. Bassist Luther Hughes leads the Cannonball-Coltrane Project for their second CD release. And it is as good as the first CD that we also raved about last year. In addition to playing some covers, they perform compositions written by Paul Kreibich (d), Glenn Cashman (ts) and Bruce Bahad (as). They are inspired by the legends and pack a lot of energy. We would like to take them up on their invitation to hear a live performance.
