O’s Notes: Saxophonist, composer, producer Jon Irabagon accentuates his regular quartet: Matt Mitchell (keyboards), Chris Lightcap (b), and Dan Weiss (d), with Mazz Swift (violin, vocals), Peter Evans (t), Miles Okazaki (g), Wendy Eisenberg (g), and Michael Formanek (double bass). Server Farm is an appropriate title for this collection of five lengthy songs. Some are rather chaotic like “Colocation” while others like “Singularities” and “Graceful Exit” are more palatable. This is a musical illustration of all the different ideas and information flowing through data farms at any given time. It is not for everyone.
