O’s Notes: Boney’s sax is on fire and he has injected some new hip-hop beats starting with the title track. But he also displays some cooler elements on Jobim’s “Aquas De Marao” and “In The Rain” with vocals from Dwele. Faith Evans, Philip Bailey on “Love Song”, George Benson and Ann Nesby make guest appearances to spice up the show. Boney places his sax in all the right places to get seductive, funky and cool grooves making Shine a winning contemporary CD.
