O’s Notes: Amabutho is a South African male septet. Their name is a term for Zulu warriors but the message they profess on Sikelela is all about peace! The harmonized vocals are centered on the marimba along with a wealth of percussion. They performed at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 World Cup bringing many cultures together with their energetic, vibrant music. There is also a DVD that adds colorful visual appeal, the men are dressed in brilliant native clothing and WW see the percussive instrumentation. In this case, seeing bring a lot to the listening experience.
