O’s Notes: Deidre (p) leads a quintet including Russ Johnson (t), Tony Malaby (sax), bob Bowen (b) and Mark Ferber (d). Vocals come from Louciana Souza and Rodman on half of the ten tracks. The music is peaceful and pleasant, a collection of ten Simple Stories. Each paints a landscape that can be visualized aurally. The colors have depth and meaning with the music having a broad range of character ranging from pop to Avant Garde. The title track combined them all with a mildly funky backdrop that summarized the session.
