O’s Notes: Japanese pianist, songwriter and producer Miho Nobuzane takes us on a journey to Brazil on Her latest release Simple Words. She wrote and arranged the bulk of the material and enlisted support from a stellar cast. Filó Machado (vocals, g) makes a strong statement on “Avenida Atl‰ntica” and three other songs. Bernard Purdie (d), Dend (perc) and Oriente Lopez (fl) all make standout guest appearances. Carla Cook does a fine job singing “You Stay In My Heart” to add variety to Miho’s jazzy Brazilian experience.
