O’s Notes: Young guitarist, Jackson Potter forms a new quintet with Alex Ridout (t, flugelhorn), Troy Roberts (t-sax), Hamish Smith (b), and Marcello Cardillo (d). This is his second take, consisting of a mix of warm, relaxing ballads, mid-tempo beats, and burners. The title track features guests Sophia Formella (vocal shadowing) and Jaleel Shaw (a-sax) Jackson cooks on “Everything I Love” displaying his prowess. We enjoyed the swinging “Trams”, and entire band in “Background Noise”.
