O’s Notes: This is the second release featuring various South African musicians playing contemporary jazz infused with their native beats. We are continuously impressed with the talent and the sound. Guitarist Jimmy Dludlu opens up with the bubbly “Walk Of Life” followed by harmonized gospel voices from Ladysmith Black Mambazo. There is some fresh Zulu from Shaluza Max and the gospel infused “Hymn For Taiwa” featuring the warm sax of Moses Khumalo. We also get more of the mellow sounds we’ve come to expect from pianist Joe McBride and Andy Narell.
