O’s Notes: Neamen, pronounced Knee-çmen, is a new entrant to the plethora of smooth jazz saxophonists. Jay Sota mans the keyboards and wrote all or part of the music with the exception of “Remember The Time”. Grover Washington, David Sanborn and Gerald Albright influence Lyles. You can hear their voices coming through as he carves his own signature. Our favorite is “Cooling The Plasma” with guest artist Jeff Lorber (Rhodes). Neamen is well on his way to soothing the contemporary jazz crowds.
