O’s Notes: Guitarist, composer Ron Jackson teams up with bassist Ben Wolfe and drummer Willie Jones III for Standards and My Songs. They open with the swinging blues of “Brandy” featuring special guest Brian Ho on the B3. He returns on the soulful “Secret Garden “ as well. Jackson is cooking on “Moose The Mooche” and “Walk Fast” including a rousing solo from Jones. “From Dawn To Dusk” and “the relaxed “She Is Love” are also standouts in a strong, balanced set.
