O’s Notes: Pianist Bill Charlap forms a trio with Kenny Washington (d) and bassist Peter Washington. They establish their capabilities immediately, cooking on the opener, “Jubilee”. This is followed by sparkling guest appearances from crooner Tony Bennett, Frank Wess (sax) on Rockin’ Chair, guitarist Jim Hall on “Two Sleepy People”, and Shirley Horn (v) on “Stardust”. The trio also presents a relaxed arrangement of “Georgia On My Mind” proving their versatility and rounding out the set.
