O’s Notes: Guitarist Jay Soto steps onto the smooth jazz set with help from proven producers Jeff Lorber and Paul Brown. Ten of the twelve songs were written all or in part by Soto giving us a fresh take. There are a few radio friendly hits and nothing that displeases the palate. “Just Like That”, “Grooveland” and “City Slicker” are strong tunes. Jeffery Osborne adds soulful vocals on “Love Has Found A Way” and “Daydreamin’ is an instrumental ballad filled with passion. Jay shows his skills with many excellent solos during the session. Contemporary jazz fans will want Soto to Stay A While.
