O’s Notes: Pianist, composer Sean Fyfe assembles a new quartet for Stepping Stones, with Dave O’Higgins on sax, Matt Fisheick on drums, and bassist Luke Fowler. Sean takes a rather laid-back approach for much of the set while O’Higgins is most pronounced in his solos notably on “Skylark”, “Prelude To A Kiss”, and “Skitch”. Sean’s at his best on “Sweet and Lovely”, “Without A Song” and the title track.
