O’s Notes: Vince plays the Hammond B3 and he works it well. He’s one of the new generations of B3 burners. He is joined by a tight band including Gary Fritz (percussion), Buddy Williams (d) and most notably, arranger Bob DeVos (g). Guests Dave Valentin (fl) ‘Fathead’ Newman (sax) and Houston Person (sax) are special ingredients to this mix that make it a very good session. The Latin beats of “Flamingo”, the cool swing of “Walking My Baby Back Home”, and “These Foolish Things Remind Me of You”, each with Persons warm tenor are the best of the lot.
