O’s Notes: The Las Vegas Boneheads (LVB) follow their well-received Sixty and Still Cookin’ with Stretchin’ Out, another strong effort. This one is focused on the arrangements of the late Dick “Stretch” McQuary, composer, bass trombonist, and one of the original members of LVB. He was a prominent big band arranger in the 1970s. These arrangements have stood the test of time and Curt Miller’s trombone heavy nonet does them justice.
