O’s Notes: Matt Lavelle (cornet, flugelhorn, cl), Jack DeSalvo (cello, g, mandolin) and Tom Cabrera (d, perc) form a trio that explores sound to peak your imagination. The musicians are all based in New York yet their music captures a quiet side of the city. Our take of their free improvisation: the sounds of the Big Apple during the wee hours when the infrastructure is preparing for the hustle and bustle of another day. With that in mind we tried it as background music for our early AM yoga. Surprisingly it worked, for me anyway! Then again, I was born in New York.
