O’s Notes: Marcus takes the from center position of a cool, swinging quintet. It is a polished band with Ian Hendrickson-Smith (sax), James Genus (b), Lawrence Leathers (d) and Roy Dunlap (p). Parsley is a cool crooner and plays trumpet as well. The nine-song set includes classics that allow Parsley to showcase his prowess and a couple of originals as well, perfect for his leadership debut. Sunday Strollin’ is an accurate description of the laid back style on this set, one that strikes many pleasing chords.
