O’s Notes: The bass is pumping with club beats abound, especially on “Nasty” and “My Sahara”. But it’s not throbbing to the point of Excedrin. Robert’s primary instrument is piano and he plays all other instruments here as well mainly via keyboards and programming. He gets some help from Graham Hutton (flugelhorn) and Nigel Ellis (sax) on a few cuts. He finds a nice groove on the title track and creates similar funky riffs on “Jazz Chat”, a mid tempo piece that is very catchy. “Drift Along” is bouncy and relaxing with a walking bass line setting up the cooler final 2 tracks: “Solstice Illusion” and “We Need To Talk”. This is a good play on electronics.
