O’s Notes: Rahn plays sax and bassist Mel Brown anchors his music. They open the set with “Tale Of Two Cities”, a funky smooth number that sets the stage for what follows. The first of several covers is “What Cha Gonna Do For Me” featuring Wayman Tisdale on lead bass and vocals. The title track gives Darren a chance to strut his stuff and he shines, playing with a sense of desperation that will get your groove going! Guest artists Tom Bowman (g), Dé Naté (vocals), Jeff Lorber (p), Jason Rahn (t) and Bob James (p) all add to the mix. We also reminisced on “I Can’t Go For That” in a strong showing.
