O’s Notes: The romance of Tango is one of the highlights that you must take in when visiting Argentina. Pascal Contet is a French accordionist who inserts his instrument in place of the traditional bandoneon. He teams up with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia under the direction of Paul Meyer. The original works were written in the 1920s and have evolved with each interpretation but remain a melancholic, danceable music. The audio quality is very good and the liner notes are excellent.
