O’s Notes: High Fidelity is a septet featuring vocalist Marina Toast. She sings eleven romantically based blues tunes. The lyrics are interesting indeed including all of the aspects that can be experienced in a relationship, from a woman’s perspective. The titles are a strong hint of the content: “My Life is so damn beautiful since you left it”, “Desperation”, “It’s Over”, “But don’t you go anywhere” and “I got used to you”! Whew! Passion, pain, regret and a glimmer of hope are all there supported by a solid music team including Natalie Brunke (violin). In fact Natalie wrote all of the music and leads the instrumentals, the reflective interludes in this set. The more we listened, the greater our appreciation, especially in our listening studio.
