O’s Notes: Tell You Something is a blend of fierce funky club beats, throwbacks and with smooth jazz melodies from saxophonist, composer and keyboardist Sam Rucker. He invites a strong team to assist him including Bobby Lyle (p), Carlton Savage (g), Mike Eley (b) and Tom Browne (t). We preferred the songs with deployment of live musicians vs. keyboard imitations, especially with drums. “Before I Let Go”, “Ain’t Nothin’ Like It” featuring Tonya L’bent (vocals), “Footsteps In The Dark” and “You Are My Starship” are highlights.
