O’s Notes: Venezuelan percussionist and bandleader Fran Vielma has a lot to say. There is a gentle Latin swing on this album that is infused with an abundance of cool riffs. It just works! Miguel Zenón (sax), Luis Perdomo (p) and Michael Rodriguez (t) deliver standout performances while guest vocalist Jeremy Bosch softens the attack with warm vocals on “Pasaje Del Olvido”. Vielma’s fierce percussion on “A Moto Patanemeño” featuring Cesar Orozco (p) has lots of sparks! There are also more mellow takes like “Habbardenque” and “Ehlba”.
