O’s Notes: Bassist Leon Lee Dorsey is a solid bandleader who assembles a trio with drummer Mike Clark and the late, legendary, pianist Harold Mabern. Song selection is excellent with “Watermelon Man”, “Bye Bye Blackbird”, “Summertime” and “Softly As In A Morning Sunrise”. Each arrangement is fresh arrangement but all recognizable and swinging. Mabern is not the headliner but he provided all of the connecting juice making this posthumous release an exceptional swan song as Bill Milkowski eloquently states in the liner notes.
