O’s Notes: Bassist Victor Bailey has a unique funky sound. It emanates from his custom Fender bass working to anchor rhythms in the lower registers as well as with melodic leads. On That’s Right he’s joined by Bill Evans (sax), Jim Beard (keys)Dean Brown (g) and Omar Hakim (d) for nine fresh contemporary jams. The music is mostly new with the exception of a couple of covers like the cool arrangement of George Clinton’s “Knee Deep/One Nation Medley”. It really kicks and hits you with relaxed, upbeat and danceable tracks.
