O’s Notes: This is an organ trio featuring Ross Stanley on the Hammond, Pedro Segundo playing drums with leader/composer Dennis Rollins playing trombone and electronics. The inspiration was 11/11/11 a rare date that also coincided with Rollins’ 47th (4+7=11) birthday and the release of The 11th Gate! The sound has a funky Latin groove that is contagious. Dennis takes the lead on most of the melodies and keeps things moving across a wide range of tempos. Among the best are “The Other Side” and “Lightworker” a brief solo by Stanley.
