O’s Notes: Cal is of the catalysts of the euphoria around Latin jazz in the US during the 1950 – 1970s. He recorded six albums with Concords and they included some excellent material. This collection of twenty-one songs features the best work from those sessions. Among the highlights are “Serengeti”, Aleluia”, “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” feauturing vocalist Carmen McRae and “Guachi Guaro”.
