O’s Notes: John Oats leads a blues band for a dozen songs, a blend of classics and originals. The Bluesville Sessions are a live studio recording following the bands sold out New York shows. Oates voice is grungy, imparting loads of character into the lyrics. The band is tight and energetic shining on “Mississippi Mile” and the mellow “It’s Alright”.
