O’s Notes: Toronto based guitarist Andrew Scott plays bop and assembles a quartet to perform eight original selections. Jake Wilkinson is on piano with bassist Jon Meyer and drummer Jeff Halischuk. Highlights include “Ain’t It So” and “Moody Blues”. This is good new music and Jeff Bull states in the liner notes that he feels the set is lasting, original and really good. Scott’s precision is matched with liquid warm tones that welcome extended listening. The sparks are there and we enjoyed it more with each track.
