O’s Notes: On this release, Dave (p) draws upon his wealth of experience to create nine new compositions. There are jovial upbeat ballads like “Mariel” with excellent work on sax from Bobby Militello and a romantic ballad, “All My Life” dedicated to his wife of almost 60 years! There is similar warmth in the finale, “Hold Fast to Dreams”. Brubek seems to be a writing machine, continuously turning out peaceful passion to our delight.
