O’s Notes: Thirty years of hits have come from this band and they’ve managed to maintain a groove that is everlasting and fresh. At the core of the group are Tom Schuman (keyboards), Dave Samuels (vibes) and writer/producer Jay Beckenstein (sax). The Deeper End continues the tradition starting with a hot number “Summer Fling” that sets the stage for eleven tracks. The tempo is varied along with the styles. “East Lake Shuffle” is classic Spyro Gyra followed by the velvety ballad, “As You Wish” and the ever so funky, cool “In Your Arms”. Once again they have a winner!
