O’s Notes: The band, IfIHadAHiFi reads the same spelled backwards, the brainchild of bassist, composer, producer, and arranger Gideon Frankel. That mystery spills out across the entire set. Flautist Jamichael Frazier makes his presence known leading many melodies. There’s a festive atmosphere with Latin flavors on songs like “Broken Dreams”, “Mellow Jive” and the jovial dancing in the field on “Chocolate Box”. The Dryad is unique and refreshing.
