O’s Notes: Jazz clarinetist Darryl Harper focuses on the blues and modern jazz on his latest release, The Edenfred Files. It was born from an artist in residency program called Edenfred in Madison Wisconsin. Harper performs the set in two configurations, a duo with Kevin Harris (p) and his regular trio with Matthew Parrish (b) and Harry Reed (d). “Spindleshanks”, “After The Rain” and “Blues for Jerry” are among the best.
