O’s Notes: Williams College Department of Music professor Thomas Bergeron (t) takes a stab at presenting Debussy’s work as if he were cast in today’s jazz scene. He assembles a quintet with guitarist David Veslocki, Dan Campolieta (p)’ Charlie Dye (perc) and bassist Samuel Adams. We were impressed with the transformation of many of the classical pieces to a jazz format. We enjoyed “The City”; the urban, syncopated vibe of “Foreverfully Falling”; and the warmth of “Epilogue: Goodnight Estelle”. Bergeron’s arrangements are on target and invite extended listening.
