O’s Notes: The latest release for pianist Charles Chen is in a quartet with 98-year-old bassist Bill Crow, guitarist Felix Lemerle, and 91-year-old Steve Little on drums. Felix and Charles are at least fifty years younger than their band mates, but they bridge the generations to make The Long Way Home an enjoyable experience. The liner notes were informative, and fun to read, describing the musicians and the music, both entertaining! On top of that, there are interviews with Bill and Steve punctuating the music.
