O’s Notes: Bassist Christian Fabian leads his trio through another exciting adventure. Mike Longo (p) and Lewis Nash (d) are back on the scene and special guests Jimmy Owens (t) and Andres Boiarsky (sax) provide brassy accents. Christian does a fine job with the bow leading the melody on “My One and Only Love”. The masters refer to the forbearers, Hancock, Parker and Miles to whom covers are dedicated like on Herbie’s “Cameleon”. These arrangements pop! Check out “Milestones” for a taste. Fabian also contributes a few originals. His solo on “Willow Weep For Me” is notable. This is a happening session.
