O’s Notes: The title says it all for this one. This collection features some of the best that Earland recorded on High Note in his later years. It is released almost five years after he died in December, 1999. Charles had his own character on the B3. He enjoyed playing and could whip the audience (as well as fellow musicians) into a frenzy. Eric Alexander (sax), Melvin Sparks (g), Najee (sax) and Greg Rockingham (d) are among the fine musicians who appear on the set. This CD cooks and is definitely one to put into your collection.
