O’s Notes: Pianist Enoch Smith, Jr. is the Director of Worship and Music at Allentown Presbyterian Church (APC). He fuses jazz into a spiritual setting with help from vocalists Emily Braden and Sarah Elizabeth Charles. This is a natural marriage that feels right inside and out of the church. It’s much like a sermon delivered by a friend. It is easy to embrace and in fact it is enjoyable! The instrumental selections will delight a wide jazz audience especially on tunes like “Jesus Loves Me” and even more so on “Wheels Up” and exploding on “Searching For God”. There’s a lot of passionate playing and great feel.
