O’s Notes: The Ripple is the meeting of two masterful tenor saxophonists George Garzone and producer, composer Jeff Rupert. Their inspiration is the laid back, west coast style of the legendary Lester Young. Richard Drexler (p), Marty Morell (d) and Jeremy Allen (b) round out the quintet. They open with the ultra mellow sounds of “Bahia”, picking up the pace on “Go-Go” and swinging hard throughout the set. We enjoyed “The Shadow of Your Smile” and the smoky tenor sax on songs like ”The Red Dior”. There is much to enjoy from both tenors!
