O’s Notes: Curtis Fuller is a veteran trombonist who has been performing for decades. He has played with many jazz legends and met his wife, Catherine while performing with Count Basie in Spain. The CD details how they met, the way they lived and her tragic passing. Curtis retains a deep love in his heart and we hear that through these eleven tunes. It is a collection of ballads and swingers capturing many emotions and includes four interludes with Fuller describing his thoughts. The accompanying musicians are strong including a couple of vocals featuring Tia Michelle Rouse. It is a well-executed, sentimental program.
