O’s Notes: This is a brass-laden band with a lot of Cajun spice. The core members are John Pittman (t), Chris Butcher (tb), Paul Metcalfe (t sax) Tom Richards (tuba, keyboards, tb) and Lowell Whitty (d, perc). They open on fire with “Hands Down Lo’” and vary the pace going forward as they stir the pot. There’s a taste of country on “This City” and a fresh cover of “Tell Me Something Good”.“This City“is a big time party, New Orleans style.
