O’s Notes: The Pony Boy All-Star Big Band is a collection of the best musicians in Seattle under the direction of drummer Greg Williamson. They recorded This Is Now- Live at Boxley’s May 17, 2024, where they are a monthly mainstay. There are ten selections for over seventy minutes of passionate, orchestrated music. We enjoyed “Mr. X”, “21st Century” with a rousing drum solo, “I Fall In Love Too Easily” featuring Connor Eisenmenger (tb), and “Geo Rose” featuring John Hansen (p). There is also a bonus disc with two additional tracks and a cool video with cameos of the entire band!
