O’s Notes: Amanda is a jazz bassist and she can play with the best on the contemporary jazz scene. This is What Happened is her debut recording and it is worth serious consideration. Ruzza composed 5 of the 7 selections and plays melodies as well as abjuring the bottom with drummer/percussionist Mauricio Zottarelli. Many of the tunes had a Latin bent and we enjoyed the cool swing of “Pimenta no Ch™ro” and the title track. But the funky “Gin” and “Larry and I” really pop, placing Amanda on the radar for top smooth jazz acts!
