O’s Notes: Veteran jazz pianist Bruce Barth leads a quartet with Steve Nelson (vibes), Ben Street (b) and Dana Hall (d). This configuration is heavy on rhythm and rich percussion that bodes well for Three Things Of Beauty. Steve and Bruce alternate on the melodic lines and compliment each other seamlessly. Barth composed 6 of the 10 compositions building our anticipation with each selection. The music swings all the way through highlighted by “Final Push” with a strong solo from Hall, the mellow title track and “Be Blued”.
