O’s Notes: Jocelyn plays the venerable Hammond B3 extracting a unique sound that brings the music together on Time to Play! She performs ten classic popular and R&B songs jazzed up to delight the audience. While she exerts herself on many of the selections, the organ doesn’t get so prominent as to get in the way of the groove. Don’t read that as meaning she can’t cook because she extracts a ton of soul from the B3 notably on “Never Let Me Go”. She is coached by one of the B3 masters, producer Tony Monaco. Bruce Forman (g), Doug Webb (sax) and Stan Martin (t) are among the many fine musicians who make the music sing. “Trouble Man”, “Last Tango In Paris” and “Sylvia’s Song” are highlights.
